I returned on Monday evening after spending the weekend in Tampa Bay. My Hawaiian J.O.B. had me on our Charter flight that flew the Seattle Seahawks to play on Sunday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a short trip but enough time to have Dinner with friends and get to the Buc’s stadium for one quarter of the game. My coworkers and I thought the stadium would have a lot of seats open considering the Tampa Bay Rays were playing the 7th game on their way to win the AL East Division. But as you can see from the picture, there are a lot of football fans and baseball fans. Anyway, we ending up leaving after the 2nd quarter to get back to the hotel and then to the airport to prep the flight back to Seattle. Of course the Seahawks lost… again. Too bad it’s not like last season when they almost went all the way…

Oh my gosh, I just finished watching the “roast” at the Alfred E Smith charity dinner. Now that was funny.
I think more people would have watched the debates if our two Presidential Candidates, Senator Obama and Senator McCain, were able to go at each other the way they did. Not only did they make fun of one another but also of themselves. It was hilarious and if you have a chance, Google it, I’m sure it’s on YouTube. Although the purpose was to be funny and it was meant to be funny, some of it was pretty sharp and this setting was probably the only setting that either one of them could have gotten away with the punches. Both of their writers did a great job.

I returned home on Tuesday evening after visiting my In-laws for a week. Our original plans had us flying to Kauai for a couple of days of relaxation. We decided against spending any unnecessary money on this excursion and decided to just see family in Honolulu. It turns out this was what we were suppose to do. I think I mentioned in an earlier entry that my father-in-law has lung cancer. It appears he has the aggressive small cell lung cancer and he was given a couple of months without chemo or about 9 months with chemo. He made the decision to have the chemo this past Monday after the MRI scan showed that the cancer had not spread to his brain. As the “in-law” myself in this matter, I support the decision he made, but I hope his frail 84 year old body can handle the chemo. Because we live in California and my father in-law in Hawaii, my husband and I will be challenged with time to make these last few months memorable.

I listened to the last debate last night and basically it was more of the same from both candidates. Senator McCain appeared, to me, to be angry that he wasn’t being heard. I was watching the debate on CNN and you could actually hear Senator McCain sighing into the microphone. Whether the Senator was aware of his sighing or not, his facial expressions also gave into his anger. As far as Joe the Plumber, and making a case for Senator McCain, I think it would have made a better impact if he didn’t keep repeating his case. The rebuttal by Senator Obama made sense, but enough already. Anyway, I’m glad the debates are finally over; I’ll still watch CNN and MSNBC and hear the candidates on the campaign trail and as far as Joe the Plumber, keep your head above water…better, maybe go have a cold one with Joe Six pack.

I had a chance to login to our Ubranding forum yesterday evening and the voting was over for our Money Merge Account website competition. Financialfreedomresolution.com didn’t place first but the knowledge I received from the process was worth all the effort I put in. I learned also that we all are very passionate and determined to bring United First Financial into every household. The more positive and personal results we share with those looking for a change in their financial future the better for our entire Country as a whole. Considering the mess we are bombarded with every day in the News, we the people have to make the individual changes first, see and feel the results and then create a synergy amongst a small group and let that momentum roll into a full movement that will be the norm. Change is difficult until it becomes what everybody else is doing.

I had a chance to talk to my ‘travel filter’ partner, Guy Rawson, about how things are coming along and we now have our ‘dye cut’. I’ll be honest, the ideas flow pretty easy, but when it comes to the mechanics and the process, I only see the finished product. Guy used to shape surfboards in Hawaii and is very knowledgeable regarding the step by step process in making products all come together. I know we will be a great team and have our product to market in the first quarter of next year if not by December. The only thing we may have to change is where we get our financing. With the economic crisis still fluctuating back and forth and the lending as tight as well you know, we more than likely will be funding our first run with our own money. We are confident that with the retail of our product and orders we will be able to leverage ourselves on the first run and into our second production. Having the use of my personal Money Merge Account will allow me to float that funding without any stress.

I made time yesterday for my business obligation that I made to be online for my website review and I missed it. I didn’t miss logging in and waiting to hear how I could make my site better but Brooke couldn’t see that I was online and so the call ended. He was gracious enough to have this training and review and luckily I was online for other sites that he reviewed and pretty much made changes to my site that made sense. It’s important that all of us in this training do our best and take the Money Merge Account mainstream. Now that we all have had a chance to improve we will make United First Financial proud.

I’ve had to take a break from our United First Financial business these last few days. I just learned that my father-in-law has terminal lung cancer. Ironically, we had made plans for a trip back to Hawaii to visit family and when we called to say we were on our way, BAM, the unfortunate news. My husband and I were back and forth earlier in the month about should we visit now, maybe for the holidays, maybe for the New Year, but I reminded him his parents weren’t getting any younger and since we have airline privileges and I don’t have to work my “JOB” let’s just go. The Lord works in mysterious ways. We’ve never been one’s to say it’s just coincidence and I’m glad I listened to my sixth sense. Family first, business can wait.

Great News Today. I managed to make the top 10 for my website Financial Freedom Resolution. Now the voting begins from amongst my peers. The training we are receiving from Brooke Barnett has been phenomenal. I don’t know how to thank him enough for his time and assistance to all of us. I do know it will come back to him twofold. I look forward to meeting him one day and give him my thanks in person.

Well, well, well, I just received word that our Mentor Brooke Barnett will be doing 10 minute reviews of a number of our personalize United First Financial websites this week. I managed to secure a time for this Thursday 4:50pm PST. I’m looking forward to the critique good and bad.
The other good news is that the website competition I’m in for my website Financial Freedom Resolution will be posting the top 10 tomorrow morning. I have my fingers crossed. I’ve seen some competitors’ sites and I don’t know. I made a couple of changes this morning and I hope that the panel reviewed it after the changes. Not a big deal actually I just removed a video that wasn’t streaming very well. This is exciting, I can’t wait till morning. One thing I do know is that the top 10 will be the best of the best and even if I’m not in it I can learn from those sites. Wish me luck…
